Coldwater Mountain trails: Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear.
My gas tank was low today so I only rode a few trails. After hitting these three, I can tell you the trails are legit and well referenced on the MTB project. The markers on the trail are easy to follow as you ride in a clockwise direction. Overall great trails. I will definitely be back up to ride the whole Coldwater Mountain Big Loop.
The Chief Ladiga Trail: The inaugural rail trail in Alabama, you can pedal all the way to the Georgia line some 33 miles north east. This trail weaves through many quaint Alabama villages. Scenic, easy to get to and traverse.
Where to stay: Hotel Finial Just a beautiful property that is secured with fencing around the entire perimeter along with a gated entrance and exit to the parking lot. The main manor, constructed in 1888, reminds me of the mansion that used to be on the edge of town. Now, town has made it’s way to the manor. For after the ride, there is a cool bar onsite.
Must Do: Coldwater Mountain Brewpub The beer seems custom made for mountain bikers and hikers. Crisp, fresh and super friendly staff and owners.
Spencer’s Bar at Hotel Finial A hip speak-easy feel for easing the pace.
Classic on Noble If your in the mood for fine wine, speakeasy cocktails and upscale dinning, this is a must do.
